Helping Entrepreneurs and Self-employed people with their ADHD in Business

It is estimated that 30% of self-employed people have ADHD. It’s probably also the very reason they are, as many find themselves better at being their own boss as they can make their own decisions on what matters to them and their business.

However, with the positives also come some struggles with working for yourself and oftentimes by yourself. Their ADHD may stand in their way in several aspects of their work.

What Sets Me Apart

My specific experience, creativity, and empathy run through all of my work with self-employed ADHDers. All of my solutions, suggestions and systems are based on tried and tested tools from my 15 years within the marketing industry. I not only know how to tackle the problems or worries emotionally and support these from an ADHD perspective, but also practically thanks to my background.

Confidence & Reassurance

When feedback can feel like critique (also thanks to Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria) or business isn’t consistent or easily won, it can make some people doubt their abilities. My task is to build them back up and motivate them to keep going.

Sometimes all that is needed is someone who is there to talk things through and provide some views to feel like you’re on the right track.

Accountability

When you are left to your own devices, and there is no boss or colleague to check on progress or methodology, there is a chance that some things may fall by the wayside or get deprioritised when they shouldn’t.

Having someone interested and able to help you in your progression can work wonders.

Boundaries

Working for yourself also means defining your own hours, which is really great when it comes to flexibility, however can also be to your detriment and possibly those around you when you can’t separate work from personal priorities and needs.

Both can start to suffer when the lines are too blurred, especially when hyperfocus can play a part.

Operations

Most people with ADHD struggle to come up with sustainable, maintainable structures and systems to run their businesses by.

Implementing methods that actually work is key and the only way to reduce overwhelm and keep your business running successfully.
